Brush with Bamboo is the world’s first plant-based toothbrush. Every component of our adult bamboo toothbrush is plant-based: bristles, handle, and box.
- Soft bristles made from 100% Castor Bean Oil. USDA Certified 100% Biobased. Bristles made in Germany.
- Organic bamboo handle
- Bamboo toothbrushes can be used for just as long as plastic toothbrushes.
- USDA Certified Biobased.
- Green American Certified.
- Vegan.
- BPA-Free. Natural and Non-toxic.
*Bristles are 100% castor bean oil and are “biobased” but do not qualify as “biodegradable”. Per US Law, “biodegradable” products need to break down within 1 year. Our biobased bristles will eventually return to the soil, but the timeline for break down would depend on soil activity.

Care Instructions
Store your toothbrush in an open air toothbrush holder or any other dry area, away from standing water or excess moisture. You can wash and care for our soft plant-based bristles just like a conventional toothbrush. Bamboo is natural woody material that will fade over time. The bamboo on the top portion of your toothbrush that goes in your mouth may begin to appear lighter and faded with use. This is normal! It will not affect your brushing experience. With proper care, our ecological bamboo toothbrush will last just as long as a conventional plastic toothbrush. The American Dental Association recommends replacing your toothbrush every 3 months, or when the bristles have frayed.
Additional Info
Our toothbrush bristles are 100% Castor Bean Oil and USDA Certified 100% Biobased – see the USDA Certification and Testing Paperwork below. This means that our bristles contain 0% fossil fuel. Our bristles are made in Germany. Brush with Bamboo purchases the organic bamboo used for our toothbrushes through an exclusive agreement with a bamboo factory where we have certified the bamboo as 100% organic. Before carving, the bamboo is boiled in water and dried in a heated oven (the oven is powered by waste from the bamboo carving process – a sustainable cycle). The entire process is chemical-free and natural. Bamboo is biodegradable, naturally antibacterial, and one of the most sustainable resources on Earth. This variety of giant Moso bamboo is panda safe – it is not food or habitat for pandas.
