Sun Days Beeswax Wraps are an organic, washable, reusable, compostable and biodegradable alternative to plastic cling wrap, sandwich bags and aluminum foil. To preserve food the most natural way, we use only sustainably harvested beeswax, 100% organic jojoba oil and tree resin and Global Organic Textile (GOTS) certified organic cotton fabrics. They are happy, fun, modern and a sustainable product for food storage.
Belize set of 3 includes:
- 1 Small yellow 7”x 8”; (17,5 x 20 cm) - wrap a lemon, apple, avocado, onion or small snack.
- 1 Medium blue 10” x 11”; (25 x 27,5 cm) - wrap cheese, sandwiches, carrots, herbs, or cover a bowl. Also perfect for traveling. Wrap your favorite soap, toothbrush, shaving brush or cosmetic brushes.
- 1 Large deep blue 13” x 14” (33 x 35 cm) - wrap half a melon, pizza, greens, baked goods or cover a bowl.
Food Storage: They work perfect to wrap up fruits and vegetables, cheese, nuts and baked goods or wrap your sandwich, cookies and snacks to go. They are also great for leftovers by using them to cover a bowl. They eliminate the need for single use plastics, bulky containers and are simply folded after use, therefore decluttering your kitchen space.
Great for travel: Beeswax and Jojoba oil has antibacterial properties therefore they are ideal for wrapping your favorite bar of soap or toothbrush when on the road. This is a great alternative to reducing plastic travel containers which are often used once and discarded at the end of a trip.
Wonderful for dog owners: When taking your pup to the park or on a walk, wrap their favorite treats and you’re ready to go. As our best friends, why subject them to toxic chemicals when rewarding them with a cookie.
SUN DAYS Beeswax Wraps last approximately a year when used 3 times a week, roughly 150 uses.
How To: Simply warm them up in your hands and wrap them around your food- virtually anything perishable. The wraps stick to themselves and provide a clean and protective seal to retain freshness. That’s it! When using them to cover a bowl, roll each wrap into a ball as if you’re kneading dough. This activates them and causes them to be moldable and tacky. Once activated ensure that you stick the wraps to themselves, not just to the bowl to get a good seal.
Care Instructions: Simply rinse in cool water - hot water will reduce the wax coating. Gently wash with mild soap and a soft sponge, just like you would wash a plate. Once clean hang to dry or use a towel, but do not wring them out. To store, just display them in a fun bowl for a pop of color in your kitchen or fold and place in a drawer. Keep away from heat such as hot water, dishwashers, microwaves and ovens. Avoid long term freezer use (a month or more). We do not recommend using for raw meat.
Health Benefits: Sun Days Beeswax wraps are a healthy way to store food. When plastic and aluminum products are used for food, it becomes poisoned by toxic chemicals which are then absorbed into our bodies. This has been proven to cause serious health issues, such as cancers and infertility. The natural antibacterial properties of beeswax and jojoba oil keeps food fresh longer than plastic and aluminum products with no health risks.
Environmental Impact: By using Sun Days Beeswax Wraps you are helping to reduce the amount of single use plastic which contributes to almost half of the 300 million tons of plastic produced every year and the more than 8 million tons that is dumped and ends up in our oceans each year.
Virtually every piece of plastic that was ever made still exists in some shape or form.
91% of plastic waste isn’t recycled and it doesn’t biodegrade, therefore it will remain for thousands and thousands of years.
There is more micro plastic in the ocean than there are stars in the Milky Way.
If plastic production isn’t curbed, plastic pollution will outweigh fish pound for pound by 2050.
Some 700 species of marine animals have been reported so far to have eaten or become entangled in plastic.
More than 40 percent of plastic is used just once, then tossed. PLEASE help by using reusable and biodegradable alternatives to single use plastics.
